Initially Swerts composed this piece for string orchestra as part of a large program to be performed by 800 students of the Music Academy of Leuven to celebrate their 175th anniversary in 2010. Therefore, the musical material has been deliberately kept simple and close to often utilizing open strings as well. The Ataneres Ensemble has made a beautiful video of it:
