
Quite a Ride is a virtuosic showpiece for alto saxophone and piano. At only a minute and a half in duration, the work finds its home as a concert-ending encore. The French saxophonist Jerôme Laran requested dr. Swerts to arrange this piece for concert band and played its very first performance in Paris 2025.
Orchestration: 1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 bassoon, clarinet 1°-2°3° in B flat, bass clarinet in B flat, alto saxophone in E flat, tenor saxophone in B flat, baritone saxophone in E flat, horn 1 and 2 in F, trumpet 1° and 2) in B flat, trombone, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba, Glockenspiel, crash cymbals, snare drum, timpani. Additional parts for horns in E flat, trumpets in Ut, tuba in E flat and B flat, bass clarinet in treble and bass clef.
