Quite a Ride is a virtuosic showpiece for alto saxophone and piano in the video performed by Dinant International Saxophone Competition Prize Winner Simon Diricq with the composer at the piano. At only a minute and a half in duration, the work finds its home as a concert-ending encore. The National Radio Channel Klara organized a call for Belgian composers to write short pieces of up to three minutes for various different combinations of duo ensembles. Swerts wrote and submitted Quite a Ride for this project. The project was called Fingerprints, and the goal was to create a series of CDs highlighting the rich artistic talent in Flanders, which is the Flemish region in the north of Belgium. It is a particularly challenging piece for those who want to evolve their skill of circular breathing.
No shipping costs are charged, one digital file contains the piano and solo parts.
