Dr. Piet Jozef Swerts (°1960) is an esteemed Flemish composer, associated as a professor of composition and orchestration, as well as a senior researcher at the LUCA School of Arts in Leuven, Belgium since 1982. In 1993, he was awarded the prestigious Grand Prix International Reine Elisabeth for composition, celebrating his remarkable talent showcased in his violin concerto "Zodiac." In 2012, he further distinguished himself by being appointed a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium. His works have since been performed on stages around the globe.
